Meet Our Summer Staff - Classroom 1

Classroom 1

Lead Teacher

I joined Woodland in 2009. I received my 0-3 Montessori Certification from Seton Montessori Institute. Outside of Woodland I enjoy working out, cooking, camping, and spending time with my family.

Assistant Teacher

I joined Woodland in the Fall of 2017. Previously, I worked in preschool/early elementary child care.

Currently I’m completing my B.S. in Elementary Education at UW Whitewater.

Outside of Woodland my time is filled with coursework for school. However, if I do have additional time, I spend it outdoors, traveling or exploring locally.

Assistant Teacher

I was hired as the float teacher in 2011. The following year I was the assistant teacher in Classroom 2. After the birth of my second child, I took time off until the fall of 2016, where I assumed the float position again. Currently, I am the assistant teacher in C3 with an inclusion focus. I have a B.A. in Psychology from beloit College. Outside of Woodland, I am a group exercise instructor and crossfire enthusiast. My passion for health comes through infall that I do, including gardening and cooking. I also love tropical vacation planning and consider this on of my strongest skills.

Late Day Lead

I joined Woodland in 2016, before that I taught in MMSD as a 3rd grade teacher. My passion in working with children comes from getting to know their perspective and understanding of the world. I have a B.S. in Early & Middle Childhood Education from UW Madison. I received my Paraprofessional Certification from Seton Montessori Institute.

Outside of Woodland I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Float Teacher

After earning a Bachelor’s in psychology and certificates in LGBT and gender & women’s studies from UW-Madison, I decided to take my past experience as a Montessori teacher’s assistant and expand my work as a substitute teacher at Woodland.

In my free time, I love to read, cook, play guitar, sing, read Yelp reviews and travel. In this year alone I have visited 5 countries: Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Mexico. I am beyond excited to continue my teaching and learning as a Float at Woodland summer camp.
