Meet Our Summer Staff - Elder Camp
I joined Woodland in the Summer of 2009. I have worked with children through coaching, after school care, summer camps, and environmental education prior to my time at Woodland.
I have a B.S. Degree in Environmental Education as well as a 3-6 AMS Credential from Montessori Education Center of the Rockies.
If I’m not at Woodland, you’ll likely find me gardening, spending time outdoors, baking, being with my husband & 2 kids, and enjoying live music.
I joined Woodland as a Teacher in 2010. I’m lucky to be teaching at the preschool where I am an alumnus. I have been a teacher in Elder Camp since its inception. I am working toward my M.S. in Climate Change Education at the UW Madison. I received my Paraprofessional Certification from Seton Montessori Institute.
Outside of Woodland I love hiking with my dog Toni or watching movies with my husband Andy.
I joined Woodland in 2016 as a substitute and fell in love with the school. I have my B.S. as well as my M.S. in Special Education from the UW Madison. I have my Montessori Paraprofessional Certification from Seton Montessori Institute.
Prior to Woodland I was a nanny, worked in several inclusive early childhood settings, and provided therapy to children on the autism spectrum.
When not at Woodland I am making art in all forms and spending time in the outdoors.
Late Day Lead
I was hired at Woodland the 11th of December 2017.
I have had the responsibilities of a Montessori Primary Teacher for almost three years; first in the setting where I did my practicum, in London, for more than a year; and since then, in a school in Madison, for a year and a half.
I obtained a BA in Philosophy and a Master's Degree in Cognitive Science.
I have a Montessori Early Years Educator International Diploma from the Montessori Centre International (London, UK).
On my free time, I read, sew, volunteer for an association popularizing cognitive science to kids and enjoy being outside with my husband and friends.
I joined Woodland in 2015 and am currently the Float Teacher.
I have my B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Child Advocacy Studies from Winona State University. I also received my Montessori Paraprofessional Certification from Seton Montessori Institute.
Before, I worked at a preschool in McFarland
Outside of Woodland, I enjoy reading, live music, spending time with my friends and family.
After earning a Bachelor’s in psychology and certificates in LGBT and gender & women’s studies from UW-Madison, I decided to take my past experience as a Montessori teacher’s assistant and expand my work as a substitute teacher at Woodland.
In my free time, I love to read, cook, play guitar, sing, read Yelp reviews and travel. In this year alone I have visited 5 countries: Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Mexico. I am beyond excited to continue my teaching and learning as a Float at Woodland summer camp.
