Meet Our Summer Staff - Toddler 1

Becky

Toddler 1 - Lead

I have been working at Woodland Montessori School since moving to Madison from Chicago in 2010. I received my Montessori Birth-to-Three certification from MECA-Seton in 2005 and have been teaching in Montessori schools ever since. My husband, Michael, writes screenplays and works on local film shoots. We love living in Madison and watching cranes, muskrats and wild turkeys walk through our backyard every day!

Carolina

Toddler 1 - Morning Assistant

I joined Woodland in the Fall of 2007.

I have an associates degree in Human Services as well as my Montessori Birth-to-Three credential from Seton Montessori Institute. Outside of Woodland I enjoy spending time with my family and 9 grandchildren as well as traveling with friends.

Samara

Toddler 1 - Late Day Lead

After being in the positions of volunteer and intern since 2013 and as a Float teacher last summer, I am beyond excited to be back at Woodland working in the toddler house. During the school year, I am a student at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities majoring in youth studies with minors in Spanish and design. I am very excited for the upcoming fall semester because I will be will be in Quito, Ecuador, both taking classes and completing an internship. In my free time during the summer months, you can most often find me exploring new places outdoors with my friends and family or log rolling at Lake Wingra.

Float Teachers

Katrina

Float Teacher

After earning a Bachelor’s in psychology and certificates in LGBT and gender & women’s studies from UW-Madison, I decided to take my past experience as a Montessori teacher’s assistant and expand my work as a substitute teacher at Woodland.

In my free time, I love to read, cook, play guitar, sing, read Yelp reviews and travel. In this year alone I have visited 5 countries: Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Mexico. I am beyond excited to continue my teaching and learning as a Float at Woodland summer camp.

Alicia

I joined Woodland in 2015 and am currently the Float Teacher.

I have my B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Child Advocacy Studies from Winona State University. I also received my Montessori Paraprofessional Certification from Seton Montessori Institute.

Before, I worked at a preschool in McFarland.

Outside of Woodland, I enjoy reading, live music, spending time with my friends and family.
