Meet Our Summer Staff - Toddler 2
Toddler 2 - Lead
I began teaching at Woodland in August 2006.
I received my AMS Birth to Three credential from Seton Institute in Chicago. At UW-Madison I studied Spanish, Psychology, and Environmental Studies.
In my free time I enjoy running, camping, biking, and gardening.
Toddler 2 - Assistant
I began my Woodland journey as a substitute teacher in January of 2018. This Fall I will start my next exciting chapter as an Afternoon Assistant in the Preschool.
Before discovering the joy of early childhood education and the Montessori philosophy, I worked in an after-school garden education program, in two libraries, and in a summer school program assisting children with ASD. I studied Literature, Writing, Education and Art in Evansville, Indiana.
When I am not teaching I am spending time with my toddler, Weaver, my partner, Joe, and our four-legged friend, Phoenix.
You can find me at Lothlorien, Madison's largest housing cooperative, where I enjoy gardening, organizing, eating good food, and learning something new everyday from one of my forty housemates.
Toddler 2 - Late Day Lead
I joined Woodland in 2014. Before Woodland I taught 7th & 8th grade Language Arts, preschool, and was an Art Teacher at the Community Art Center in Chicago. I received my M.S. in Elementary Education from DePaul and a MFA in Printmaking from the UW Madison. I received my Paraprofessional Certification from Seton Montessori Institute.
Outside of Woodland I enjoy showcasing my art in many exhibits in the Midwest.
After earning a Bachelor’s in psychology and certificates in LGBT and gender & women’s studies from UW-Madison, I decided to take my past experience as a Montessori teacher’s assistant and expand my work as a substitute teacher at Woodland.
In my free time, I love to read, cook, play guitar, sing, read Yelp reviews and travel. In this year alone I have visited 5 countries: Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Mexico. I am beyond excited to continue my teaching and learning as a Float at Woodland summer camp.
I joined Woodland in 2015 and am currently the Float Teacher.
I have my B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Child Advocacy Studies from Winona State University. I also received my Montessori Paraprofessional Certification from Seton Montessori Institute.
Before, I worked at a preschool in McFarland.
Outside of Woodland, I enjoy reading, live music, spending time with my friends and family.
