"The first duty of an education is to stir up life, but leave it free to develop."
Welcome Spring! We will love exploring the changes occurring in and outside of the school during this shift from Winter to Spring.

Bear in mind that the change of seasons means changes in indoor and outdoor gear. We appreciate that you are keeping track of the clothing and outerwear your child needs on a regular basis to keep them comfortable and ready for all their endeavors inside and outside.
At this stage, it is common for children to start changing clothes more often so they can practice their burgeoning skills and independence. Clothing can easily mix with those from another classmate and we are grateful for your patience and assistance with helping keep it sorted!! Labelling helps us help you and your child keep things organized.

Spring is also a busy time on the Woodland calendar! Keep your eye on these-and other- upcoming events:
Parent/Teacher Conferences on 4/26
Spruce Up Day on 4/27
Parents' Night Out (aka Auction Night) on 5/18

The newest work in our classroom is an Ugi ball. It weighs 10 lbs, is a bit squishy, has a fifteen inch diameter, and is very durable. Sounds perfect, right? It is. We mainly use Ugi to satisfy the desire for heavy work. The feeling of spending loads of energy on one task is deeply gratifying. Ugi is a great outlet for that urge to wrestle, climb, roll around, or toss oneself about. It is also a nice alternative to sitting on the floor or in a chair.
