Kindergarten - October 2019

We have jumped into our kindergarten year with both feet! Our enthusiasm for our work, and our friends seems boundless. The kindergarteners come into the room each day ready for new challenges and adventures! I am someone who has always had boundless enthusiasm and often I forget to put one foot in front of the other, in other words I forget to slow down and take things one step at a time.

This year we have a group of exuberant kindergarteners that match my enthusiasm. I love it! Naturally we are working on putting the cart before the horse, otherwise known as our routines (something I have always struggled with). How lucky I am that I have a wonderful group to practice with! My learning in my own moments of enthusiasm has come from embracing my mistakes (such as spilling my coffee) and learning from them. Likewise many of our lessons and hard work right now will not come from doing the challenging work but building the patience, self-control and stamina to get there and practice it. We have spent our first month of Kindergarten building our friendships, going on outdoor explorations, making room for mistakes, establishing our routines and finding time to be enthusiastic! What a great start to the year!
