“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”
Dear Woodland Families,
It is with a heavy heart I am sharing with you my departure from Woodland. As some of you know, I have been involved in the YWCA as the Children’s Program Coordinator for the past year. I have accepted a full-time position as the Third Street Coordinator/Case Manager to continue serving the YWCA community. My last day at Woodland will be February 28th. As I transition into my new role at the YWCA, I will also be shortening my days at Woodland to just the afternoon portion from 2:30PM-5:30PM beginning February 10th.
Woodland has given me so much in the time I have been a part of it; I hope to transcend what I have learned here, as I further pursue my work for social justice and equity with the YWCA. As the Third Street Case Manager, I will be working to provide programming and connection to the community for single moms residing at the YWCA’s downtown building. Although my new position will be turning down a different path from teaching, I will always look back at my experience with Woodland as guidance on the value of building a trusting and supportive community.
I am so grateful for all of you, for being a part of my journey at Woodland and for sharing your unbelievably talented, funny, and caring children with me. My time at Woodland has been full of wonderful memories and laughter, which I will cherish for years to come. I feel so very blessed to have experienced so much growth, both personally and professionally, alongside your children. I will miss Woodland immensely!
I will continue to stay connected with the children and Woodland to finish off the school year by being a part of Pancake Breakfast (February 14th), I will have monthly lunch dates from March-May, and I would not miss out on the June Sing-Along and Kinder Performance.
With that, I strongly believe we will cross paths in the future and I look forward to it. Thank you again for the opportunity to be a part of your children’s lives and for their zest and life passions they have shared with me.
All the best,
